Rapeseed Meal
Rapeseed Meal is a by-product obtained after oil extraction from rapeseed, and it is an important plant-based protein feed. Its crude protein content typically ranges between 35%-38%. It is rich in methionine but relatively low in lysine, and contains anti-nutritional factors such as tannins, erucic acid, and sinapine. Therefore, its inclusion in diets must be controlled, especially for monogastric animals (like pigs and chickens). It is widely used in aquafeed (e.g., for fish and crabs) and ruminant feed, serving as an effective substitute for protein ingredients like soybean meal, helping to reduce formulation costs. "Double-low" rapeseed meal (Canola meal) has higher nutritional value with significantly reduced levels of anti-nutritional factors.
