[Main Composition] Apramycin sulfate
[Description] This drug is a slightly yellow to yellow brown powder.
[Drug Interactions] (1) Synergistic effects occur when the drug is used in combination with penicillins or cephalosporins.
(2) Its antibacterial activity will be enhanced in alkaline environments. Concomitant use with alkaline agents (e.g., sodium bicarbonate, aminophylline) may enhance the antibacterial potency of the drug but may also increase its toxicity accordingly. The antibacterial effects will diminish when pH exceeds 8.4.
(3) Contact with rust can inactivate the drug.
(4) Co-administration with cephalosporins, dextran, potent diuretics (e.g., furosemide), erythromycin, etc., may enhance the ototoxicity of the drug.
(5) The neuromuscular blockade effects of the drug may be potentiated by skeletal muscle relaxants (e.g., succinylcholine chloride) or other agents with similar pharmacological activity.
[Indications] This drug is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, primarily indicated for the treatment of intestinal infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria in pigs and chickens.
[Dosage and Administration] Calculated based on this drug. Mixing into water: Add 0.5~1.0 g of this drug per 1 L of water for chickens, administer for 5 consecutive days; add 0.025 g of this drug per 1 kg body weight for pigs, administer for 7 consecutive days.
[Precautions] (1) Do not administer to hens laying eggs for human consumption during the laying period.
(2) This drug is readily inactivated upon contact with rust. Ensure feed-mixing equipment is rust-free. Avoid concurrent use with trace element preparations.
(3) Solutions for administration via mixing into water must be prepared freshly on the day of use.
[Withdrawal Period] 21 days for pigs and 7 days for chickens.
