A few days ago, the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council jointly issued the "Opinions on Doing a Good Job in Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction at a Higher Level and Higher Quality", which proposed a systematic deployment for energy conservation and carbon reduction in the transportation sector. The opinions emphasize vigorously developing railway and waterway transportation, continuously improving the efficiency and green level of road transportation, and actively developing multimodal transportation, promoting the green and intelligent transformation of transportation stations, expressways and other facilities, and improving the infrastructure such as charging and exchanging power stations and shore power. In terms of the promotion of means of transport, the opinion clearly promotes energy-saving and low-carbon means of transport, optimizes vehicle energy consumption limits, actively develops electric (hydrogen energy) heavy trucks and green fuel ships, and supports clean and low-carbon fuel blending and substitution. In addition, the opinions also require the promotion of energy-saving and carbon-reducing transformation of digital infrastructure such as computing power and communication base stations, strengthening the energy-saving management of public institutions, and providing guarantees in terms of laws and regulations, standard signs, and policy support.
