China’s second domestically built large cruise ship, the Adora Flower City, is scheduled for delivery in November.
China News Service, Shanghai, April 16 (Xie Mengyuan, Lu Xiaoqing, Yin Liqin) On the 16th, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and Adora Cruises jointly announced that the second domestically-built large cruise ship, "Adora Huacheng," will be officially delivered on November 6, 2026, nearly two months ahead of the original schedule.
Compared to the first ship, "Adora Magic City," the overall construction efficiency of the project has significantly improved by 20%. On March 20, "Adora Huacheng" successfully undocked at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and fully entered the dock testing phase. As of now, the project's overall progress has reached 96%, with interior decoration 87% complete and testing work 76% complete. Several key milestones have been achieved ahead of schedule, and the ship is planned to undergo sea trials in mid-May.
"Adora Huacheng" is 341 meters long, with a gross tonnage of 141,900. It features 2,130 guest rooms and suites, accommodating up to 5,232 guests at full capacity. The ship is fully equipped with facilities, including over 20 uniquely themed restaurants and bars, a grand theater that can seat thousands, a shopping center, an art gallery, a gym, a spa, and a kids' club, catering to the needs of guests of all ages. After delivery, "Adora Huacheng" will begin its inaugural season from the Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port.
As the sister ship of China's first large cruise ship, "Adora Magic City," "Adora Huacheng" has undergone comprehensive upgrades in spatial design, smart technology, and cruise experience. The hull design of "Adora Huacheng" is more slender and elegant, with the atrium area doubled in size. The interior design incorporates a new art style, with "flowers" as the central theme throughout the ship. Additionally, "Adora Huacheng" will be equipped with more advanced smart technology, introducing intelligent interaction features in cabins and public areas to provide guests with a "more tech-savvy" vacation experience.
