The Dalian Port Lightship Returns to Duty in "Stylish Attire"
On September 14, the Beihai Maritime Safety Center Dalian Navigation Mark Office successfully completed the dock repair work and restoration task for the "Dalian Port Lightship."
This lightship is a new type of 340-ton lightship, serving as the "commander" of maritime traffic in the Dashanshan Channel. It plays an important role in guiding and assisting navigation for ships entering and leaving Dalian Port and is also a symbolic navigation mark of Dalian Port. The lightship has a total hull length of 25.66 meters, a beam of 8.1 meters, a depth of 3.8 meters, and a designed draft of 2.3 meters. It is equipped with LED navigation lights, radar responders, and other devices, enabling it to assist ships in navigation under various weather conditions through visible targets, lights, radar imaging, and response signals, day and night. It is a large, unmanned floating navigation aid. To ensure the normal functioning of the Dalian Port lightship, the Dalian Navigation Mark Office regularly conducts inspections, maintenance, and dock repair work on the lightship. After this year's dock repair work, the Dalian Port lightship has returned to service in "splendid attire."
