Intense squid fishing is underway, with maritime authorities ensuring safety and security.

On August 5, the special squid fishing season in the northern Yellow Sea officially began. 128 fishing boats set sail towards the fishing area, cutting through the waves. The sea was bustling with boats crisscrossing and leaving trails behind.

Squid fishing is an important source of livelihood for coastal fishermen during the fishing moratorium. With a large number of fishing boats heading out to sea, the operational waters in the Dalian jurisdiction overlap with the designated shipping lanes along the Liaoning coast. The frequency of encounters between commercial and fishing vessels has sharply increased, significantly raising the risk of collisions. The Dalian Maritime Safety Administration has proactively assessed the situation, meticulously planned, and worked to establish a strong safety barrier.

Considering the characteristics of special fishing operations, such as "concentrated operational periods and relatively fixed waters," the Dalian Maritime Safety Administration has collaborated with fisheries departments in advance. They scientifically planned departure routes for fishing boats in Dalian Bay, based on recommended fishing vessel routes, and implemented dynamic control over 128 legally operating fishing boats using an intelligent maritime system. Point-to-point safety reminders were issued to vessels with potential crossing situations. Electronic patrols were strengthened to guide commercial ships to strictly adhere to designated routes, prevent fishing boats from obstructing navigation, and promote "relative separation" between commercial and fishing vessels. During peak departure times for fishing boats, temporary traffic control was implemented, and the rhythm of commercial ships entering and leaving the port was adjusted through high-frequency coordination. Waiting, yielding, and staggered passage were arranged reasonably. Additionally, enforcement vessels were dispatched in collaboration with fisheries departments to patrol outside fishing ports, guiding fishing boats to depart in an orderly manner, organizing traffic for passenger ships between Liaoning and Shandong, and clearing obstructive fishing boats on-site to ensure smooth navigation routes.

Before heading out to sea, maritime authorities brought safety training sessions to the docks and ship decks, explaining the regulations of designated routes and the direction of public navigation routes to fishermen. They guided fishermen to consciously avoid the main navigation channels of commercial ships and practice "early yielding, wide yielding, and proactive yielding." On-site, they distributed the "Dalian Jurisdiction Prevention of Commercial and Fishing Vessel Collision Brochure," using case studies to explain laws and instill safety awareness deeply into the minds of fishermen.

Next, the Dalian Maritime Safety Administration will continue to increase the frequency of electronic patrols, strengthen joint coordination with fisheries, maritime police, and other departments, dynamically adjust control measures, and make every effort to ensure safe and stable navigation during the special fishing season, helping fishermen produce safely and return fully loaded.
