On March 19, 2024, the China International Sustainable Transport Innovation and Knowledge Center and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank co-hosted the Central Asia Logistics Development Symposium in Beijing. The conference brought together the transportation authorities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, relevant international organizations, and representatives of Chinese and foreign enterprises to focus on the development opportunities of logistics interconnection in Central Asia. At the meeting, the two sides jointly released the "Central Asia Logistics Research Report" commissioned by the AIIB. The report systematically evaluates the current situation of logistics development in the four Central Asian countries, innovatively puts forward the regional logistics network layout plan of "one core corridor and three key directions", and publishes the list of the first batch of cooperation projects that focus on. The chief cooperation officer of the AIIB expressed his willingness to provide financial and intellectual support for high-quality logistics infrastructure projects, while the director of the International Center stressed that this is an important measure to implement the consensus on deepening connectivity between China and Central Asian countries. The seminar not only promoted the docking of projects of all parties, but also explored a new platform for the establishment of an international transportation investment and financing cooperation mechanism. In the future, the International Center will continue to optimize the platform functions and promote the implementation of research results, so as to deepen China-Central Asia cooperation and contribute to the development of global sustainable transportation.
