On February 28, Intercontinental Shipping and Shandong Port Qingdao Port held a signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement on green energy refueling business in Qingdao.

At the meeting, Intercontinental Shipping and Shandong Port Qingdao Port signed the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Green Energy Refueling Business," and Xiamen New Yonglian Company and Ark Intelligent Company signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Methanol Refueling Business." Su Jianguang, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Shandong Port, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shandong Port Qingdao Port; and Guo Jinkui, Chairman of Intercontinental Shipping Group Holdings Limited, attended the event and witnessed the signing.

According to the agreement, both parties will focus on the green methanol refueling ship modified through cooperation, carry out leasing business, and conduct in-depth cooperation in the fields of domestic clean energy refueling market information, ship capacity leasing, and technical management. Through this strategic cooperation, Intercontinental Shipping will further improve its layout in new energy ship services and clean fuel refueling business, continuously enhance green shipping service capabilities, and promote the overall operation of the group towards more efficient and lower carbon upgrades.

Su Jianguang stated that as an important transportation infrastructure, the port is a barometer of national economic development. Qingdao Port has always closely followed the pace of the Party and the country, shouldered the responsibility of state-owned enterprises, and accelerated the construction of a smart green port. Governments at all levels attach great importance to the development of Qingdao Port, and Qingdao City has specially established an international shipping center construction task force. The country's first and only artificial intelligence application pilot base in the port industry has been established at Qingdao Port, bringing important opportunities for smart green development. Facing the wave of global shipping industry's green and low-carbon transformation, it is hoped that both parties will take this signing as an opportunity to deepen cooperation and promote the normalization of green energy refueling. Qingdao Port will ensure the implementation of refueling projects with a series of supporting measures, assisting both parties in better cooperation and greater development in the future.

Guo Jinkui stated that as the first shipping hub in Northeast Asia, Qingdao Port has a developed hinterland economy, a complete range of cargo types, and a large business volume, providing advantageous conditions for ship new energy refueling. Intercontinental Shipping is keeping pace with the times and has been fully promoting green transformation in recent years. The methanol refueling business is the first cooperation with Qingdao Port, bringing new business, new increments, and new efficiency to both parties, and is an important development direction. In the future, it is hoped to closely cooperate with Qingdao Port, jointly explore, ensure the smooth implementation of the project, and inject tangible green momentum into the construction of the international shipping center.
