On August 7, 63-year-old seafarer Chen Aijun called the help desk of the Tangshan Maritime Bureau's administrative center: "At my age, I really can't figure out the procedures on the phone. According to the new regulations, the upper age limit for holding a seafarer's competency certificate has been adjusted from 65 to 66 years old. However, Chen Aijun, being elderly and unfamiliar with online operations, was on vacation in his hometown and unable to handle the process nearby, making the certificate renewal difficult for him.

After confirmation, Chen Aijun's current competency certificate was found to be valid until May 20, 2028, meeting the conditions for renewal within the extended period. After the application was completed, the administrative center coordinated to expedite the certificate issuance, helping Chen Aijun obtain the new certificate without making a single trip. From one phone call to receiving the certificate, the warm assistance allowed the seafarer to truly feel the care and efficiency of government services.
