CCS has issued the first domestic type approval certificate for a full‑scenario, high‑pressure direct‑injection methanol‑only medium‑speed engine.

On July 30, the Shanghai branch of China Classification Society (CCS) officially issued the type approval certificate for the first domestic all-scenario high-pressure direct injection methanol single-fuel marine medium-speed engine and the National II emission approval certificate for marine engines to the No. 711 Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.

The issuance of the two certificates marks that China's independently developed high-end methanol marine power equipment has passed international and domestic all-scenario multi-purpose compliance verification, filling the last gap in the domestic standardized certification field for single methanol medium-speed engines. This significantly accelerates the marketization and practical application of this type of equipment, strongly promoting the localization and high-end upgrading of China's green marine power industry.

The CCS Shanghai branch will take this certification issuance as a new starting point to continuously deepen its comprehensive cooperation with the No. 711 Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation in the fields of green low-carbon and intelligent ships. Leveraging its advantages in technical standards and inspection certification, it will assist more domestic new energy marine equipment in obtaining compliance recognition, contributing CCS's technical strength to the shipping industry's achievement of the "dual carbon" goals.
