Vietnam Lychees: High Pesticide Residues(August 27)

On August 24, 2026, the EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) flagged Vietnamese lychees for excessive pesticide residues during an inspection notified by the Czech Republic. The reported residue levels of Lambda-cyhalothrin, Clothianidin, and Thiamethoxam significantly surpassed the maximum residue limit (0.01 mg/kg). As a result, the contaminated lychee products were withdrawn and destroyed to ensure public safety. Exporters are urged to rigorously adhere to EU pesticide regulations to avoid such violations and mitigate future risks.
