Eggs: As Expected, Prices Are Starting to Rise!
Egg Market Analysis
Today, egg prices in major production regions entered an upward channel. The average price of brown eggs reached 5.23 yuan/jin, and the average price of pink eggs stood at 5.14 yuan/jin, with the price spread narrowing to 0.09. The average price across major production areas was 5.22 yuan/jin, up 0.09 yuan/jin compared to the previous trading day. The egg market has now entered a rebound and upward adjustment channel. Demand-side positive factors are gradually materializing: school restocking for the new semester and food factory replenishment have started simultaneously, the enthusiasm of second- and third-tier distributors to purchase has improved, and the pace of market shipments has accelerated. However, downstream players still show resistance to high-priced eggs, mostly maintaining a buy-as-needed and sell-as-available strategy, with limited willingness to chase price increases and build inventory.

Egg Market Outlook Forecast
From the supply side, the number of newly laying hens continues to increase, with small-grade egg supply growing steadily. To avoid concentrated culling around the Mid-Autumn Festival, farmers are choosing to sell old hens at current market conditions, leading to ample supply in the old hen market and an increase in old hen shipments.
From the demand side, Mid-Autumn Festival restocking is proceeding in an orderly manner, with food processing enterprises maintaining a procurement rhythm of purchasing in batches as needed. At the same time, the restocking window for the new school term has opened, bringing a new round of demand-side support. The sequential release of demand from the two major nodes of Mid-Autumn Festival and school reopening is expected to provide sustained support for egg prices.
Overall, the current market trading atmosphere is acceptable, with inventories at all levels remaining at low levels, providing strong support for egg prices. Coupled with the gradual release of school restocking demand, multiple bullish factors are resonating. It is expected that egg prices will trend strongly tomorrow, with the scope of price increases potentially expanding further.
